Banister Medical (originally, Banister Tool) was established over 40 years ago in Ray Banister’s garage as a tool and die manufacturer. From our humble roots, we have grown to become the company we are today: a provider of high quality, one-stop contract manufacturing services for world class medical device customers.

Since 2005, when Banister first became ISO 13485 certified, we have focused solely on the precision machining of complex surgical instruments and orthopedic implants. With a quality-first mindset, we continually upgrade our quality processes, having since achieved compliance with several additional standards, including ISO 10993, S 19227, EU MDR, and multiple material and cleaning validation standards. We are now well-established as a preferred supplier for top medical device companies throughout the United States.

We consider ourselves an extension of our customers' teams, providing a high-touch approach and a strong sense of accountability. We treat their deadlines as our own, help solve even the thorniest manufacturing challenges, and honor the commitments we make.

Today, we operate out of Pflugerville, TX (greater Austin area), where we continually invest in new equipment and personnel to increase our capabilities and capacity. Our facility is staffed by highly-skilled craftsmen, many of whom have been with us for over 20 years.

Our Quality Assurance Department is equipped with state-of-the-art inspection and test equipment and staffed with an experienced team to ensure that our customers’ finished product meets or exceeds the highest dimensional, functional, and aesthetic standards.
